As an HVAC Service Technician at Cloud Comfort HVAC, you'll play a crucial role in delivering top-quality HVAC services to our customers. You'll inspect, repair, and install HVAC systems while maintaining our high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on role with the potential for career advancement and the opportunity to work with some of the most innovative HVAC technologies in the market.


Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, air conditioning compressors, forced air converter units, and other related equipment. Install, modify, and set up HVAC systems such as refrigeration units, chillers, water cooling towers, and forced-air systems. 
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units, including gas and electric boilers. 
  • Perform skilled electrical work such as repairing, installing, and altering HVAC components, motors, wiring systems, control panels, and timers. 
  • Repair or replace defective parts, such as thermostats, fan controls, relays, filters, heat exchangers, compressors, valves, and gaskets.
  • Test and monitor boiler operations, check pressure gauges and perform water quality tests. Adjust and repair boiler burners and combustion systems as needed.
  • Install and calibrate heating and air-conditioning systems, including copper tubing and refrigerant lines. Test joints and insulate pipes for refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
  • Operate specialized tools such as welder torches, vacuum pumps, and diagnostic test equipment. 
  • Maintain detailed records of time, labor, and materials for each job. 
  • Respond to after-hours service calls and emergency repairs. Ensure customer needs are met efficiently and effectively, providing high-quality service at all times.
  • Communicate well.
  • Present options to customers. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with HVAC systems in a commercial or residential setting. Proven expertise in diagnostics, repair, and installation of HVAC systems is required.
  • Strong knowledge of standard HVAC and refrigeration practices, including the operation of air compressors, boilers, and pneumatic controls. Understanding of cooling tower and boiler water treatment systems.
  • EPA Certification is preferred. Other relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
  • Ability to perform skilled mechanical tasks, including the inspection, repair, and alteration of HVAC systems and components. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex HVAC issues and offer effective, timely solutions. Capable of troubleshooting and solving both mechanical and electrical problems independently.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members, explaining technical details in simple terms when necessary. Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction as well as part of a collaborative team environment. Must have a customer-first mindset and work well under pressure.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations, including HVAC health and safety codes. 
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Competitive hourly rate of $30.00 - $40.00 + commission (based on experience).
